District Pairs
Semi-Final
Tuesday 14 February 7.00pm at the Buchanan: A list of qualifiers has been
forwarded to all clubs which held qualifying heats. Players unable to
play in the Semi-Final must contact the District Tournament Secretary
as soon as possible.
National Pairs Round
2 (District Final)
Tuesday 24 January 7.00pm at the GBC: A list
of qualifiers has been
forwarded to all clubs which held qualifying heats. Players unable to
play in Round 2 must contact the District Tournament Secretary as soon
as possible.
West District
Simultaneous Pairs II
Thursday 16 February: Participating clubs so far are: GBC, Maccabi,
Hamilton, Helensburgh, Kilmun, Oban, Rothesay, Western. Other clubs
wishing to hold heats should contact the District Tournament Secretary
as soon as possible and no later than 9 February.
National Men's &
Women's Pairs
The only heat held in the District will be on Saturday 18 February
1.00pm
at the Buchanan. Players intending to take part should contact the club
directly.

SBU Systems Policy
The latest "Systems Policy" replacing the 1999 "Handbook of Directives
and Permitted Conventions" has been posted under Administration (Laws
and Ethics; and Documentation)
It came into effect on 1st September 2010,

UNICEF
Charity Pairs
The Buchanan is running a heat of this event. This is strictly a "fun"
event - there are no national points, no booklets. Just a chance to
play a set of hands and see how you did across the field, and hopefully
to have an enjoyable evening while raising money for charity. This
event was started in 2001, following the Tsunami in Asia, and has
raised a great deal of money, for that, for the Pakistan Earthquake,
where the money raised was used to build a new school, and more
recently for UNICEF. In 2010 we directed the funds to the Haiti
Earthquake appeal.
As things are at the moment, we expect the charity benefitting from
this event will be UNICEF but if that changes will will put a notice
here on the site.
